Ramappa Lake is a beautiful lake created by the Kakatiyas (General Recherla Rudra, during the period of the Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva.) beside Ramappa temple at the village Palampet, 70 KM from Warangal and about 200 KM from Hyderabad. The scenic beauty of Ramappa lake is awesome.

Ramappa temple is the famous local name of the Ramalingeswara temple built by the Kakatiyans around 1213 AD. The history says that it was taken 40 years to built this temple. It is said that there were three structures of the temple but presently only one structure is intact. The Shivalaya stands beautifully on a six feet high star shaped platform. A mandapam with a Nandi Idol of 9 foot high, in ruins now, placed at the entrance and many small shrines are placed around the main Ramappa temple.

The Ramappa temple is an excellent example of beautiful Kakatiyan architecture and sculpture. The temple is famous for it’s rich sculptured walls, pillars, brackets and ceilings. The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) had taken charge of it. You can reach Ramappa temple from Mulugu Mondal (Ramappa to Mulugu Mondal 11 Km and Mulugu Mondal is 50 KM from Warangal)
