Patnitop Tour and Patnitop Travel
Patnitop is among the new age tourist destinations that have come up in the recent years. Despite its late arrival on the tourist’s map, Patnitop is making up for lost time real fast! You cannot miss out on this charming hill station if you are looking to escape the heat of the Indian plains. The hill station is perched on a plateau, at an altitude of 2024m. The dense greenery of the hill tops is to be seen to be believed. You will find paths made by human footprints, leading you to vantage points that offer an exquisite view of the surroundings.
Trekkers can have a field day at Patnitop. Long and short treks are definitely part of the plan. A short trek to Shiva Garh lasts for a day. It is about 11kms away from Patnitop but you have to make a steep climb to 3500m. As a trekking enthusiast, you will love the narrow wooden tracks that lead to places like Batote and Kud. The main attraction of these places is the cold springs of fresh water. The trekking route from the Vaishno Devi temple extends up to Dhuna by passing through Kud and Patnitop.
There are many picnic spots developed by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism industry around Sanasar. This is about 19kms away from Patnitop. Adventure sport lovers can make use of skiing and paragliding facilities. Pony rides will take tourists among lesser known but beautiful pathways. For those who want to have a quiet time, you can make use of the 9-hole golf course. Reaching Patnitop is not a problem at all. It takes a taxi ride from Katra or Udhampur. Though you can visit Patnitop anytime of the year, it is best if you visit after the monsoons in September-October. Tourists who love snow can visit during the winter months: December to March.
