Mirik is a beautiful hill station in west bengal situated 49 km from Darjeeling and 52 km from siliguri. It’s scenic beauty is stunning.
Mirik – The lake of Mirik is a nice stretch of water where you can enjoy horse riding and boating. You will be chased by a number of horse riders who will offer you an affordable ride on the horse, even if you don’t want one. The best way to avoid them quickly is to tell them that you will take a ride after boating and lunch. Some riverside restaurants can offer average quality meals.

* The Sumendu Lake (boating, angling) – The beautiful 1.25 km. long lake is the most attractive spot of the Mirik Tourism Project. The depth of the lake water varies from a minimum of 3 ft. to maximum of 26 ft. The walks on the 3.5 km. long promenade around the lake is a fascinating one. The 80 ft. long arch-type overbridge across the lake is a wonderful engineering skill of the project. Arrangements of fishing in the lake is to be implemented soon. Boating facility is also available in the lake

A day’s trek down to the river Balasun to Namshu and again climbing uphill to Kurseong on the opposite mountain range is a fascinating experience. On the way, you will come across tea gardens, orange orchards and small villages where you can come close to the rustic way of life led by the hardworking hill folk.
